You Ain’t No Queen

I see all these women on social media declaring themselves Queens, one even declared it to me in person. The virtue-signaling the late Christopher Hitchens referred to as “if you have to say it you are probably not.”

"A queen is wise. She has earned her serenity, not having had it bestowed on her but having passed tests.

She has suffered and grown more beautiful because of it. She has proven she can hold her kingdom together. She has become its vision.

She cares deeply about something bigger than herself. She rules with authentic power."

-- Marianne Williamson

Declaring yourself something before you have achieved it, is promoted and protected by the excessive coddling in today’s society. When you are a little less full of yourself you realize how much there is to achieve.

′′ It's not an art to say: ′′ I am!". You still have to be ′′
— Stanislaw Jerzy Lec

The people uttering these proclamations, protected by safe spaces and trigger warnings, can no longer be held to account.

Ne me quitte pas / Do not leave me now
I will make a kingdom
Where love will be king
Where love will be the law
Where you will be queen

-- Jacques Brel

People who do not treat love as King, will never be queen. So you must leave them where you found them.

No Kingdom entertains an imposter. Entitlement is earned, not given.

Let’s lead the world by example with new rigors of excellence we first and successfully apply to ourselves.
